Surrey CC will take a ‘radical approach' to improving its inadequate children's services in a bid to avoid a Department for Education (DfE) takeover, councillors will be told.

A report to a meeting of the council's children and education select committee this week said the radical approach was needed to attract and retain the ‘right staff'.
