A senior Reading councillor has hit back after a local MP questioned her ability to turn around the authority’s ‘appalling’ children’s services.

A senior Reading councillor has hit back after a local MP questioned her ability to turn around the authority's ‘appalling' children's services.

The council's children's department was last month branded ‘inadequate' by Ofsted and now faces government intervention.
