Amidst the Brexit chaos, two things are clear: that there are serious weaknesses in our parliamentary system which have resulted in the current political deadlock and the extent of the disconnect between Parliament and the people of the UK.
While we all can speculate on how the current Brexit chaos may be resolved, there is a more fundamental question about how the UK recovers from Brexit. What type of country, Parliament, indeed, democracy, will remain? In the aftermath of whatever deal or no-deal is agreed, the real task ahead will be to reconcile the bitter divisions between Leave and Remain across the UK.
