'Reform of this broken system cannot come soon enough'

The first phase report of the Grenfell public inquiry may have focused on the weaknesses in the fire and rescue service’s response, but there was much for local authorities to take away, says Paul Marinko.

The criticism meted out in the first phase report of the public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower disaster last week was shouldered largely by the London Fire Brigade.

Nonetheless, its author, Sir Martin Moore-Bick – somewhat inevitably – placed some fault at the door of Kensington & Chelsea RLBC.
