Roll on the robots

Improving productivity everywhere involves optimising resource use to deliver better outcomes for residents and this will require councils to be much more flexible and less rigid about where budgets sit, says Tracie Langley.

Productivity in local government is becoming an important issue in the public sector as we seek to evidence value for money for everything we do.

But, how do you corroborate this in a local authority setting when there are around 2,000 different activities being undertaken that are probably the same activities that were undertaken 10 years ago?
