Social care reform plans fall 'woefully short'

The Government has ‘fallen woefully short of the mark’ with its proposals for social care reform, according to shadow minister for social care Liz Kendall.

The Government has ‘fallen woefully short of the mark' with its proposals for social care reform, according to shadow minister for social care Liz Kendall.

Speaking at the National Children and Adult Services Conference (NCASC) she said the national insurance tax rise, introduced from April 2023,  ‘won't fix the crisis in social care, let alone build a system fit for the 21st century'.
