Local Government Association (LGA) chief executive Mark Lloyd has told senior officers that social care is in ‘crisis' as Smith Square called for more money.

Speaking at the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives Summit today, Mr Lloyd said social care needed an immediate cash injection of at least £1.3bn, amid predictions the sector was facing a total deficit of £5.8bn over the next four years.
