The Solent combined authority has been secured despite the leader of the Hampshire CC objecting to the idea. 

Although the deal will not be announced officially in the chancellor's Budget tomorrow, seven councils in the south of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the Solent local enterprise partnership have confirmed the deal will go ahead.
