Space: the final frontier

Ian Miller wonders why there is such a rush with the Government's revised national Air Quality Strategy. It was poor planning by Defra, he believes.

Readers of The MJ might think only science fiction characters such as Doctor Who can breach the space-time continuum. To them may now be added the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

The recent consultation on the revised national Air Quality Strategy stated: ‘This consultation runs for two weeks. It opens on 11 April 2023 and closes on 21 April 2023.' The consultation ran for a total of 11 days, if both the opening and closing days are included, of which only nine were working days. That is not ‘two weeks'.
