The Committee on Standards in Public Life (CSPL) has expressed disappointment that the government recently rejected plans to improve local ethics.

In a letter published on 20 October, CSPL chairman Lord Evans asks levelling up secretary Simon Clarke to reconsider proposals in a 2019 report.
