Striving for excellence

Councils can deliver excellence regardless of how much money they have but must follow three crucial rules, says Tracie Evans

I am a public servant and I am passionate about public services but I also believe public service reform is necessary if we are going to deliver excellent services with less money and drive out the inequalities in our communities.

I remember having a heated discussion with an old chief executive of mine who insisted that organisations could not strive for excellence with less money.
