Conservatives on Tower Hamlets LBC have called for an end to the impasse over the hiring of the council's most senior officer.

Tory group leader Peter Golds called for a ‘transparent process' to appoint an officer with the ‘appropriate powers to ensure there is no blurring of responsibilities between officers and the executive'.
