Former Wigan Council leader, Lord Peter Smith, has died, the council has announced.

Former Wigan Council leader, Lord Peter Smith, has died, the council has announced.

Lord Smith was leader for 27 years, first taking on the role in 1991. He stepped down in May 2018.
