'Unsustainable' NHS finances prompt social care funding calls

The dire state of NHS finances is further evidence that the social care sector should be a priority in tomorrow’s Autumn Statement, health think-tanks and council leaders have claimed.

The dire state of NHS finances is further evidence that the social care sector should be a priority in tomorrow's Autumn Statement, health think-tanks and council leaders have claimed.

A National Audit Office (NAO) report published today warned that the financial performance of the NHS ‘worsened considerably' in 2015/16 – a trend the auditors claimed was ‘not sustainable'.
