Warrington launches green energy bond

The council aims to raise £1m to fund a green energy project.

Warrington Council has launched a £1m Community Municipal Investment (CMI) bond to fund a green energy project.

The second scheme of its kind in the country, the CMI will pay investors 1.2% per year in half yearly payments over its five-year term.
