Concerns about the Local Government Association's (LGA) current system of sector-led improvement have been raised by the National Audit Office (NAO), The MJ can reveal.

The watchdog has privately communicated its view to the LGA that sector-led improvement needed to be ‘mandatory to be effective,' The MJ has learned.
