Whitehall has supported London mayor Sadiq Khan's plea for further fiscal devolution to the capital in the wake of the country's decision to leave the European Union.

Communities secretary Greg Clark said he was ‘very keen' to devolve more to London after the city's residents voted against the national grain to remain in the trading bloc.
