Having been asked to present on the topic of ‘Local Government Finance – Where next?' at the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) South/South West regional conference a week after the EU referendum, I think the favourite word from both myself and other speakers covering different topics, was ‘uncertainty'.

There was also a hint of something else that flowed through the speakers on the day and that was more than a little bit of optimism.
