I recently attended the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) session on the Greater Cambridgeshire Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) following publication of our report in November. The PAC will produce its own report from the evidence session, but here is my take on one of the issues raised.
One of the National Audit Office's roles is to ‘follow the money' – we are not the auditor of individual local authorities, but we do work to ensure not only that public money is spent as Parliament intended, but that spending is undertaken with due diligence, good governance, and full accountability and transparency.
