Assistant Director – Specialist Children's Services (West), Assistant Director – Children's Safeguarding & Quality Assurance

Salaries: c.£100,000 (more available for exceptional candidates)

The safety and wellbeing of the county's children and young people is Kent County Council's top priority. Members and officers are committed to driving sustained improvements and raising standards.

We have a new management team and committed front line staff who have been instrumental in turning our services around. We have made signifi cant changes and we are making good progress. Ofsted's recent Safeguarding inspection saw the assessment of our services as an ‘adequate' rating, but our improvement journey aims to take us to ‘good' and ‘outstanding'.

Ofsted recognise that we are on the right path, and also that we are not complacent about the work that needs to be done. We are looking for two Assistant Directors to complete our senior management team, to help guide our ongoing improvement programme and to ensure we offer outstanding services for the children of Kent.

For an informal, confidential discussion about these opportunities, then please contact Steve Guest at Veredus on 020 7932 4308. Further details, including response instructions can be found at this website under reference 13800 for Specialist Children's Services and 13880 for Safeguarding & Quality Assurance.

Closing date: 5th April 2013.
