Battered Health Bill staggers over the line

The controversial Health and Social Care Bill, finally cleared its parliamentary hurdle last night.

The controversial Health and Social Care Bill, which took 14 months to pass through the House of Commons and was amended more than 1,000 times, finally cleared its parliamentary hurdle last night.

A Labour motion had called for the Bill to be delayed until ministers agreed to make public an assessment of the risks posed by the legislation, but the move was defeated by 82 votes.
