Bristol savings target increased

Bristol City Council has added £8m to its savings target to cover social care cost pressures after drawing up a ‘worst-case scenario’ financial plan.

Bristol City Council has added £8m to its savings target to cover social care cost pressures after drawing up a ‘worst-case scenario' financial plan.

The council had already planned to make savings of £36m by April 2017 – as outlined in its 2013 to 2017 medium-term financial plan - with another £60m budget hole left to fill before 2020.
