According to two reports published today Councils could save money on care services by building more specialist housing for older people.

Councils could save money on care services and help boost economic growth by building more specialist housing for older people, according to two reports published today.

A study of 19 extra care housing schemes by the University of Kent and the Housing Learning and Improvement Network (Housing LIN) concludes they could be more cost effective than care homes, and might help with the integration of housing, social care and health services.
