Cheshire leader stands down

The leader of Cheshire East Council, Wesley Fitzgerald, has resigned.

The leader of Cheshire East Council, Wesley Fitzgerald, has resigned.

Conservative councillor Fitzgerald, who is 74 years old and has led the authority since it became a unitary in 2008, said that 'new leadership' was required to take the council forward.
