MPs should not use the snap General Election to make ‘undeliverable promises' about the future funding of public services, experts have warned.

Responding to prime minister Theresa May's surprise announcement that there will be a General Election on 8 June, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) said the vote provided a fresh opportunity to debate the affordability of ‘long-held' public policies.
