Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has formally launched the government's £1bn 'youth contract' programme designed to get the country's growing number of unemployed 16 to 24 year-olds into work.

Announced to great fanfare last year, the coalition's key plan to tackle rising numbers of youngsters not in education, employment or training (Neets).
