MPs have urged ministers to review the role of high streets in their COVID-19 recovery strategy amid fears councils could lose further income through reforms.

A report published by the House of Commons' cross-party Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee urged the Government to conduct a swift ‘lessons learned' review to examine the ‘impact of the handling of the pandemic at central and local government level on the short- and long-term health of high streets and town centres'.
