Councils will be expected to ensure venues and resources they own do not provide a platform for extremists, a new Prevent strategy toolkit issued by the Home Office has urged.

One section of the 56-page toolkit published yesterday encourages councils to have a ‘venue hire policy in place to ensure that premises are not used by radicalising influencers'.
