Following a summer where Britain has once again demonstrated its strength of character, determination, dedication, enthusiasm and positivity both in and outside the sporting arena, I am reminded that people are our greatest asset and can be relied upon to make things happen.

Organisations – especially districts – have to rely on the talent and commitment of their workforce to deliver success. As the Government calls on us to contribute to the growth agenda, I think the key lies with creating an environment which motivates, creates a positive atmosphere and generates confidence – and a baseline has already been set during the summer months.
