Voter confidence in the most recent round of local elections was ‘high', with 90% of voters satisfied with the way ballots were run, the Electoral Commission reported this week.
A Commission study of the 3 May elections in England and Anglesey, published on 16 July, reveals that nine out of ten voters believed the ballots were well run, whether they voted in person or by post.
The Commission said the findings refl ected ‘positively on the work of local authority returning officers and their staff'.
There were also fewer allegations of electoral fraud this year, the Commission reported.
