General Election brings uncertainty to improvement plan timetable

Sheila Oxtoby says the General Election calls into question the timetable for starting work on a key project to improve the seafront in Great Yarmouth that would also provide a major year-round boost for the economy.

With the backdrop of the General Election and the roll forward of the local government finance settlement, like many councils we are remaining focused on planning for the longer-term and delivering for communities.

The welcome potential of significant funding for Great Yarmouth through the Future High Streets Fund and Town Deals offers an exciting opportunity to deliver our ambitious regeneration plans for the town centre, seafront and wider borough, while continuing to manage financial risks and uncertainty.
