Shropshire Council has approved an emergency spending freeze after senior officers warned the unitary was heading for a significant overspend in 2017/18.

Shropshire Council has approved an emergency spending freeze after senior officers warned the unitary was heading for a significant overspend in 2017/18.

A financial monitoring report presented to senior councillors last week warned that the council was facing a £5.1m overspend for 2017/18.
