The Independent Review of Children's Social Care heeds the County Councils Network's calls for a much greater focus on prevention, keeping families together, and a move away from reliance on costly residential care, says Simon Edwards.

After the Brexit and pandemic inertia over the past few years, recent months have seen significant movement in key public sector reforms encompassing young people and adults.

The latest is the publication of the Independent Review of Children's Social Care, which has been led by Josh MacAlister.
