EXCLUSIVE: Leaders fear 'losing functions' if they fail to generate income

Local government leaders fear their organisations will be scrapped or lose functions if they fail to make their own money, a survey has found.

Local government leaders fear their organisations will be scrapped or lose functions if they fail to make their own money, a survey has found. 

According to 61% of respondents in a survey by law firm Trowers & Hamlins, parts of the public sector that fail to innovate to become financially self sufficient will be ‘abolished or lose functions'.
