Watchdog Ofsted this week offered to inspect hotels being used to house unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) amid snowballing concern over their condition and safeguarding record.

Watchdog Ofsted this week offered to inspect hotels being used to house unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) amid snowballing concern over their condition and safeguarding record.

A report by the Brighton and Hove Safeguarding Children Partnership last week called for Ofsted to be appointed to inspect UASC hotels after it was revealed that 137 youngsters have gone missing from one site alone.
