Fears raised over care cap

IFS questions viability of Tory plans limiting individual care costs.

Plans to cap social care bills must account for huge regional variations in the cost of provision and the localisation of business rates, financial experts have warned.

The independent Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) this week said Conservative plans to introduce an ‘absolute limit' on individual care costs were fraught with difficulties.
