More than 170 local authorities stand to gain from a £4m government investment in projects to support controversial housing benefit reforms.

More than 170 local authorities stand to gain from a £4m government investment in projects to support controversial housing benefit reforms.

Welfare reform minister, Lord Freud, last week announced 10 projects he claimed would help ‘restore fairness' to the housing benefit system, the cost of which has soared to £20bn a year.
