Levelling up secretary Michael Gove has reiterated his long-term commitment to devolving powers to all local leaders to ensure communities fuel Britain's post-Brexit renewal.

Speaking at the launch of centre-right think-tank Onward's Future of Conservatism project today, Mr Gove said that longer-term all Governments should seek to devolve powers beyond even those within his levelling up bill – and not focus disproportionately on combined authority mayors.
