MPs have urged ministers not to ignore ‘worrying' declines in social care budgets as the UK prepares to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

During a debate in the House of Commons yesterday, MPs from across the political divide said it was imperative the forthcoming social care Green Paper addressed councils' cash shortfalls.
