COMMUNITIES DIRECTORATE HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION (To be based at Manby near Louth, Lincolnshire)

About Us:

Our roads are extremely important to us; as one of the most rural counties in England, they support the local economy, provide access to jobs and services and enable thousands of visitors to experience our beautiful coast and countryside including the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB.

We have four geographically aligned teams who look after more than 9,000 kilometres of road providing a comprehensive range of highway services, from day to day maintenance through to working on some of the most exciting road projects in the county over the next few years.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with wide ranging knowledge and experience in the delivery of highway services at a senior management level to join our dedicated team of professionals, ensuring our standards are maintained and our residents, business and visitors can continue to move around our county in safety and with the minimum of disruption.

About You:

An experienced and motivated manager, you will have the knowledge and experience of highway service delivery to provide leadership for your local team, contribute to the overall management of the highways and transportation service for the county as well as taking on responsibility for leading other countywide services (e.g. operational delivery of our floods and water management responsibilities).

You will have a proven track record in leadership and management, ideally within the local government sector; although this is not essential, you should be comfortable working in a political environment. You will be a Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer, with significant relevant experience in partnership working, project management, budgetary control and change management.

You will be required to travel to undertake this role. The post will attract the payment of relocation expenses where applicable in line with current Lincolnshire County Council Relocation Scheme.
