Lancashire County Council and NHS Lancashire are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Joint Executive Director of Public Health. Lancashire County Council is committed to integrate action to improve health and wellbeing into all of its functions, consequently the Executive Director of Public Health will have a broad influence across the whole organisation and will need the skills and sensitivity to work in a complex and changing partnership environment. The post holder will be the principal advisor to the Health and Wellbeing Board and influential in developing a Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Initially the post will report to the Chief Executives of NHS Lancashire and Lancashire County Council until March 2013 which is the point of transfer of the Public Health function to Lancashire County Council, due to take place in April 2013. The post holder will then become jointly accountable to the County Council Chief Executive and the Secretary of State through Public Health England.
