Labour set to unveil future homes policy

Shadow communities secretary, Caroline Flint, is expected to float details of Labour’s plan to overhaul the housing sector.

Shadow communities secretary, Caroline Flint, is expected to float details of Labour's plan to overhaul Britain's housing sector at next week's party conference in Liverpool.

In what will be a nod towards the forthcoming final report of her housing policy review, Ms Flint will turn her attention towards the renewal of social housing – particularly who qualifies for state assistance and why – as well as her early thoughts on oversight of, and standards within, the private rented sector.
