Manchester City Council's Labour leader, Sir Richard Leese, has been appointed as deputy to newly-elected Greater Manchester metro mayor Andy Burnham.

Sir Richard said he would do everything he could to make the devolution of new powers to Greater Manchester ‘an enormous success'.
