Liverpool to replace homeless shelters

The city council is to close its ‘shared sleeping sites’ for homeless people and provide self-contained accommodation.

Liverpool City Council is to close its ‘shared sleeping sites' for homeless people and provide self-contained accommodation.

Following a drive during the COVID-19 lockdown to accommodate all rough sleepers, the council is currently funding 350 single homeless people to stay in hotels, costing £1.3m annually and due to end next month.
