MHCLG to recoup £350m unspent cash

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) will retain almost half of the £800m unspent cash it reportedly surrendered to the Treasury this year.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) will retain almost half of the £800m unspent cash it reportedly surrendered to the Treasury this year.

MHCLG was last week criticised for sending back £817m to the Treasury in unspent cash allocated to it during 2017/18, including around £72m in cash put aside for affordable homes initiatives.
