Ministers say funding situation will soon improve - but councils are more uncertain

The run-up to Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the provisional local government finance settlement.

And this year, despite promises of the settlement being delivered in early December, Brexit shenanigans pushed the announcement closer to December 25 than the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) had been hoping.
