Can ministers keep NHS reforms on the rails?

Stephen Weigel considers if the Government's proposals to reform the NHS can be successful.

Members of the coalition government have surprised us – and themselves – with how quickly they have brought forward change programmes in so many areas.

But, inevitably, mistakes have been made, and opposition to some proposals has led to a reduction in public confidence and support. As a result, the Government has ‘paused' its NHS change proposals to listen and reflect.
