A Muslim Conservative councillor has said that 'religion has no place in politics' and backed today's High Court ruling that councils have no statutory right to hold prayers at meetings.

Cllr Imran Khan, a Conservative member of Reigate and Banstead BC in Surrey, this afternoon told The MJ that he disagreed with senior Tories who now wish to overturn today's High Court judgement – including communities secretary Eric Pickles.
