Mutual likely to take on 1.5m civil service pensions

Pension administration for up to 1.5 million civil servants will be outsourced to a mutual made up of public servants and a private sector partner.

Pension administration for up to 1.5 million civil servants will be outsourced to a mutual made up of public servants and a private sector partner, the Cabinet Office has announced.

Under plans drawn up by Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, the current public body administering the scheme, My Civil Service Pension (MyCSP), will effectively be placed into the private sphere in a joint venture partnership with a firm.
