Newcastle City Council has announced another restructuring of its senior management team – axing two posts, including the director of resources role held by Tony Kirkham.

Under plans announced by Newcastle's chief executive, Pam Smith, the north-east authority will also lose its vacant director of city futures post responsible for overseeing economic development and climate change programmes.
